Herald Information Systems have taken their first steps into the big league of sports sponsorship by sponsoring the first online Fantasy Cricket League. The League, run by Mark Henderson-Thynne of Essex University, currently consists of 143 teams, mostly selected by people from the UK. Each team is selected from players active within the English domestic competition.
The Herald teams are not doing particularly well, with Mel's Marauders languishing perilously close to the bottom of the table after a couple of unlucky selections.
