Why we need to know what software you use

This one's fairly simple! Different types of server software need their keys and certificates in different formats. If you tell us the wrong type of software, you may wind up with a certificate that won't work; while we have procedures in place to deal with this situation, it'll be slower and more complex for you if we have to go through them. Better by far to get the server software right first time; if you aren't sure what software you are running, please ask the person who provided you with your CSR.
